The Move

We have been in our new home for two whole weeks now...so you might think we're all settled in. WRONG-O. Although the move and the intial unpacking went very smoothly, the last little odd and end things we need to do have been a bit of a pain. Actually, I should say trying to do them while taking care of two little boys and running a household have been a pain. Why can't life just halt until I finish the place? I wish.

Anyway, we LOVE our apartment and really are nearly finished with it. In fact, I have hope that I will be making a post tomorrow or Tuesday full of pictures of our completed place. Wish me luck! I think I'll need it...

James-y James-y Sour Cream...

...Sweetest James I've ever seen

(We are dorks and sing the "Dollop of Daisy Sour Cream jingle" [with some words changed of course] to our little James-y all the time...and he loves it...so that's what my title and subtitle are all about...in case you were wondering :)

ANYWAY, Our little dollop of James-y is 4 months old today!

He went to his well-visit this morning and is doing great. Connor was very protective of James and told the nurse to "stop doing that to my James" when she was measuring him. When he got his shots big brother C teared up and screamed "Oh no! James! James! No! No!" and pushed the nurse. Yep, I guess he truly is looking out for his little bro.

Here's a few fun facts about our little man at 4 months:

-Weighs 14 lbs. 3 oz. (50th percentile)
-Is 24 inches long (20th percentile)
-Has a head circumference of 16 1/2 inches (50th percentile)
-Wears size 3-6 month clothing.
-Wears size 1 diapers.
-Eats 6 oz bottles every 4 hours in the daytime and once if at all during the night.
-Is excited to have his first solid food sometime later today!
-LOVES bedtime!
-Sleeps 12-13 hours at night.
-LOVES his jumparoo.
-LOVES his big brother's attention.
-LOVES his mommy and daddy.
-Mostly ignores Bevo and Hemi lately (and they do the same to him).
-Likes to swing in his cradle swing on the lowest speed and watch his bees spin around.
-Is digging his car seat more and more.
-Rolls back and forth like crazy.
-Is scooting around a little (mostly in circles on his tummy and forward a foot or two).
-Smiles and laughs when we sing the "Dollop of Daisy jingle to him" or he hears the actual commercial on tv.
-Is a happy, giggly, grinny, baby boy.

Tagged...All About My Husband!

I was tagged by a few friends all to do this same little thing SO here ya go! Have fun learning all about my husband (who I call Hub)!

What is your husband's name? Marcus
How long have you been married? 3 years (coming up on 4)
How long did you date? Good question. We went from co-workers, to best friends, to dating, and then engaged in a matter of 7 months.
How old is he? 31
Who eats more sweets? I'd say we're equal partner's when it comes to sweets.
Who said "I love you first"? I don't remember and neither does he...
Who is taller? Definitely Marcus.
Who is smarter? Depends on what we're talking about...I guess you can say we've specialized in different areas.
Who can sing the best? Well, that would be me BUT Marcus is definitely not a bad singer.
Who does the laundry? That's my job...however, he gladly steps up to the plate if I'm a slacker.
Who pays the bills? Me...with his money (ok, our money, but he earns it!)
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Sides change all the time at our house...I get bored of my side every few weeks (or sometimes days) and so we switch. Right now I am on the right.
Who mows the lawn? Maintainance
Who cooks dinner? Mostly me BUT Marcus has some mad cooking skills, his food is awesome!
Who drives? Mostly Marcus.
Who kissed who first? He kissed me.
Who's the first to admit they are wrong? Whoever is actually wrong.
Who asked who out first? Marcus asked me.
Who wears the pants? Both...he doesn't like skirts and I don't care for them often either.

Time To Get Movin'

Tomorrow is the big move...well, kind of big move...much smaller than the one we just made.

Anyway, I am excited and so are my boys (big and little). Marcus and I both look forward to being close to his office and settled in to a place we plan on staying in for a while. Connor can hardly wait to live near a playground and James is excited for the nine foot ceilings (ok, maybe not. He doesn't seem to care much about what's going on :)

We get into our new apartment tomorrow but don't have to be out of our old one until Sunday so we'll be taking it easy and just moving one room at a time. We'll pack a room up here, drive it over to our new apartment, and then unpack it there before going back for more. It will be a slow process but should work well for us.

The next time you hear from me I hope to report that it's all done!!!

Let's Hear It For Falling Gas Prices!

I have been elated about the falling gas prices for some time now, but today I am nearly jumping out of my skin happy. As I was driving by my local Kroger gas station I saw the price for a gallon of gas was at $1.78. It was everything I could do to not pull over and fill up (even though I still had half a tank and KNEW if I did I would regret it in a few days when it's even cheaper!).

Anyway, Marcus and I call each other every time we see a new great gas price...SO, I called him to tell him about the $1.78 and he beat me with seeing it for $1.60-something on gasbuddy.com. AMAZING! I keep thinking the falling prices are going to level off...or worse, soar back up. BUT I welcome their continued fall for as long as they can!

My Boys

I have alone time right now...that hardly ever happens. I must admit it is kind of nice. Connor and James are fast asleep and Marcus is over at a friends house for a little bit. I was sitting here in the QUIET (a rare thing in my life) and I started thinking about my boys and what they mean to me.

I will spare you all my uber-mushy details, but I love my boys. They really are my life. I don't think I ever saw myself ending up in a family situation where I would be the only girl, but as Marcus and I are done having kids due to my high risk history and status in pregnancy, I guess I am, and I've decided it's not such a bad thing. It's nice to be surrounded by gentlemen (and my boys certainly are all gentlemen...even James :). It's nice to be treated with the respect and love sometimes only a mommy and wife get. SO thank you my boys for being such sweethearts and treating me so well. I love you very much!

Photo Tag

My sister-in-law Dawn "photo-tagged" me and now I get to share the sixth photo in my sixth photo folder with you all. I wish this little equation would have lead me to a more fun to share picture, but alas, it did not.

This is Bevo yawning (and looking like a rabid cat-beast) with a big mess in the background. Awesome.

I tag:
Heather
Heidi
Pam
Christy
Katie
Shirley

In case you didn't catch it in my intro, you need to go to your pictures file, open the sixth folder, and then post the sixth picture in it and tell us what it's all about. Have fun!

5 Fantastic Things About Boppa

Today is my father-in-law's (Boppa as we call him) birthday and I want to share 5 FANTASTIC things about him with you all.

1: Boppa is a very kind man.
2: Boppa is a gentle giant.
3: Boppa can sometimes be a little bit of a tease, but always a loving one.
4: Boppa is quite selfless.
5: Boppa is a wonderful grandfather, father, and father-in-law and WE'RE SO GLAD HE'S OURS!

Happy Birthday Boppa!

The Election and Sleep

First topic: The Election...loved it!

Second topic: Sleep. My little boys need their sleep and they usually have no problem getting it. Marcus and I recently made a drastic change to their sleep schedule, however, and although they adjusted just fine, I think I am still working on one part of it.

With Daylight Savings Time ending it is nice and dark nice and early. Marcus gets home from work around 4:30 every day so the boys have plenty of time with him. SO we decided to make their bedtime 7:00. That's right folks, 7:00! It's wonderful because Marcus and I get to have a fantastically-kids-free evening every night. Both boys sleep through the night (with the exception of one quick feeding for James) and then wake-up around 6:30. This is the part I am still trying to get used to.

I know many of you out there get up WAY earlier than that, but I have not had to since last fall semester and it has rocked my world. The up-side to it is that Marcus gets up about 6:30 as well so our entire family is on the same schedule. Kind of nice.

James has two little naps during the day and Connor has "quiet time" in the afternoon which leads to him falling asleep about every-other-day. Not too bad.

'Tis the Season

I know some of you out there have very strong feelings about NOT starting the whole Christmas thing until Thanksgiving is over, and I can respect that, but it doesn't mean I agree. I for one LOVE seeing Christmas decorations in stores the day after Halloween (but no earlier please). Marcus and I have a tradition of putting Christmas music on after trick-or-treating. We were disappointed this year when we were driving home from our ward trunk or treat party and couldn't find a station that had switched over yet.

The next day came and went, and with 80 degree weather I kind of forgot about it being Christmas music time. Well, today I went to Wal*Mart with my little boys and it was filled with Christmas sounds, decorations, and products. I LOVED IT! Although I won't decorate my house for Christmas until the Monday before Thanksgiving (that's right folks, Marcus and I love to get our Holiday decorations out for Turkey week)I am ready to pump up the seasonal jams on my ipod. 5 Fantastic Things About Matt Poole

Marcus' big brother Matt is celebrating his 36th birthday today and Marcus and I wanted to wish him a happy birthday AND tell you all 5 FANTASTIC things about him.

1: Matt's a good old boy...seriously one of the most down-to-earth people we've ever known.
2: Matt's always there to help you out if you need it.
3: This guy is loyal. He stood by the Cowboys when they went 1 and 15.
4: Matt's a good husband (not that either of us are married to him--but he sure seems to be) and a good father. It's obvious his kids adore him.
5: Matt's one of a kind (even though he is one of three Uncle Matt's to our boys).

We love you Matt and hope you have a great birthday!
