I know some of you out there have very strong feelings about NOT starting the whole Christmas thing until Thanksgiving is over, and I can respect that, but it doesn't mean I agree. I for one LOVE seeing Christmas decorations in stores the day after Halloween (but no earlier please). Marcus and I have a tradition of putting Christmas music on after trick-or-treating. We were disappointed this year when we were driving home from our ward trunk or treat party and couldn't find a station that had switched over yet.
The next day came and went, and with 80 degree weather I kind of forgot about it being Christmas music time. Well, today I went to Wal*Mart with my little boys and it was filled with Christmas sounds, decorations, and products. I LOVED IT! Although I won't decorate my house for Christmas until the Monday before Thanksgiving (that's right folks, Marcus and I love to get our Holiday decorations out for Turkey week)I am ready to pump up the seasonal jams on my ipod. noooo! I'm one of those 'no christmas music till after thanksgiving' people, otherwise I get super sick of it. But i'm SO excited to decorate!!
how goes the moving preperations?
Remember that you can always go to FM 100 dot com and stream Christmas music, too!! I had forgotten about it till I turned on the radio today. I don't listen to it all the time, but I like to turn to FM 100 every now and then before Thanksgiving and get happy. =D
Girl... I am tuned in since the day after Halloween to Cosy 106.5 to christmas music. Infact I was re-organizing all my wedding decor last night till 3:30 am to CHRISTMAS tunes!! I am glad there are other die hards :)
Hi,
I think it's great that you decorate for Christmas just after thanksgiving. I always put mine up early too and people always criticise me for it because here in the uk most people don't seem to decorate until a week before Christmas!
By the way, we had snow last week. It's the 1st time in about 70 years that it had ever snowed in October in the uk. It was a real shock!!!
I agree about starting Christmas spirit before Thanksgiving as the stores do. It makes the entire season last a bit longer which is nice. I love the entire holiday season, but never really realized how weather could effect the feeling until I came to Utah. CA is prolly pretty similar to TX winters. 80 degree weather does make it a little hard to remember that holiday season!
