Connor's Conversations

Anyone who knows my little Connor knows he loves to talk. And anyone who knows me knows where he gets it from...

Anyway, the thing about Connor is that he has never really gotten into the talking on the phone thing. He knows what a phone is for. He understands that when we make a phone call someone is on the other end and we are supposed to talk and listen to them. The farthest he ever takes a phone converstaion, however, is to quickly say something random, listen a second, and then walk away with out even saying goodbye...until today that is.

Connor wanted to talk to my mother on the phone, so Marcus dialed her number and handed the cell phone to Connor. When she (or my sister Amelia actually) answered he just went off. He took the phone over into our dining room and quickly paced around our kitchen table while jabbering away. I do not think he let my sister, mother, or brother (who all took a turn talking to him) get much of a word in edge-wise.

It was hillarious to all of us and so out of character for him! He ended up being on the phone for 40 minutes before Marcus and I finally told him he'd been on long enough.

What could a three year talk to his grandmother, aunt, and uncle about for 40 minutes you may ask:

-Riding rollercoasters that "go up and down" when they come visit this summer
-The red wall in our apartment
-The 3 stars hanging on our wall
-The doors to the armours in our dining room being shut instead of open
-Really liking the movie "Bolt"
-Going to playgroup today at "gNash's" (Nash's) house and "it was really fun"
-Playing with Geotracks
-The vacuum (it cleans things)
-Circles
-A toy fish
-Using the potty
-Going to the toy store
-His next birthday that is coming up (but is really not going to be here for 11 more months)
-The trip he's apparently planning to Utah (that will only require 5 minutes of travel time)
-Riding in Grandma's car
-Car seats
-Eating at the "Zoo Mall" and going to the Zoo
-His chart to earn the above prize

...and I'm sure much more. That's just the list of things Marcus and I can remember (mostly because he repeated those things several times).

I think it's safe to assume that Connor's phone conversations have made a change for the longer. Here's to wishing good luck to whoever he ends up talking to!
