Catch Up

I'm going to need to play a little game of catch-up here. A lot of things have been going on and I'm bummed I've missed blogging about them, so...here's a few fun highlights:

We Joined A Playgroup
I haven't made any really close friends that have children Connor's age since we've moved to Lewisville and it's been obvious that he gets a little lonely every once in a while. He still misses his friend Abigail from back in Utah. SO I sucked it up and joined our church's playgroup. It is a BIG group but lots of fun! We meet every Thursday for a few hours. Connor has loved it and so have I.

Sunny Days
We had a couple of days last week with temperatures in the high 70's! It was awesome! Connor, James, and I spent lots of time outside feeding the ducks, walking, and playing on the playground.

Freezing Cold Weather
The last few days have been freezing. A total bummer. Last night we had an ice storm and it caused a car accident near us that knocked our power out for three and a half hours. It got a little chilly, but not too bad. The bad weather had one perk, and that is that Marcus got to come home from work a little early yesterday and didn't have to go back in until noon today.

Doctor Visits and Check-ups
James turned 6 months old last Sunday and had his check-up at the doctor's on Monday! He is healthy as can be and is growing well. He weighs 15lbs 14oz (22%), is 26.4in (49%), and has a head circumference of 43.5cm (43%). He took his shots like a man and cried only when the needles first went in. He was laughing seconds later.

Connor had a little check-up last Thursday and is also a healthy little boy! He weighs 25.5lbs (2%...like always) and is just a tad under 3ft. He had to have his finger pricked for a little blood test and he didn't even flinch.

Potty-Training Complete!
I have started potty-training Connor several times, and he has always done well with it, but at some point I just get tired and put him back in training pants and life goes on. Well, on Sunday I guess he decided enough was enough. While he was in his nursery class at Church he took his training pants off through his pant leg and gave it to his teachers (who are both guys...which explains why neither of them came and told us he was running around without any pull-ups on) and he told them he didn't want them anymore. When we got home he wanted to wear his underwear, so he did, and he's been using the potty all by himself ever since. I couldn't be more happy!

I think that basically gets me caught up on my blogging. We have done a lot of other little activities the last week as a family, but nothing too exciting. I guess since it's now almost 1:00 I should really get going on the things I need to do in our house today. Wish me luck!

And hey, if you're an American Idol fan make sure and watch it tonight! My cousin David is going to be on it!

Yay for pictures! I can't believe how old Connor is getting. He is getting to be such a cute "big" boy. Wow! And James is absolutely adorable. I love the chub on his thighs. So cute!

I will be watching American Idol tonight! I watched LOST last week and realized I can watch LOST online, so tonight is all for American Idol. Can't wait to see your cousin!

That is an awesome potty training story. When they are ready they are ready. I'm excited about your play group! It is great to have friends around. It has taken me about 4 years, but its starting to feel more like home here. Your boys are so cute and growing so fast!

Wow!! You all have been busy!! YAY! I was thrilled to hear about the Texas heat (but not the ice storm)...I'm seriously missing it right now- it's freezing here and I've decided my car doesn't like the cold either. It always takes a bit to get warmed up in the mornings. How fun that y'all joined a playgroup! Your boys are looking as cute as ever...glad things are going well!
