Two Weeks!

Today our sweet baby James is two weeks old. I am so grateful for how these last 14 days have gone and the overwhelming blessing James has been to us.

Here are his 2 week stats:

-Weight: 7 lbs. 14 oz. (27th percentile)
-Length: 20 in. (27th percentile)
-Head Circumference: 14 in. (22nd percentile)

A few facts about James:

-Eats anywhere from 1.5 to 3.5 oz. bottles every 1.5 to 4 hours.
-Sleeps like a champ! Usually wakes every 3 hours...sometimes a little more or less.
-Wears size NB diapers and clothes.
-Hiccups, sneezes, and coughs (all normal newborn reflexes) often.
-LOVES his cradle swing, bouncer, and pack 'n play.
-LOVES his binkie.
-LOVES to be swaddled, cuddled, and held.
-LOVES it when we sing Niel Diamond's song "Sweet Caroline" to him (we sing "Sweet Baby James" instead of "Caroline" though).

Todays Doctor's visit was James' last with Dr. Bailey. I had my last appointment with Doctor Gourley yesterday. Both Bailey and Gourley spent quite a bit of extra time just talking with us during our visits. They were very supportive and helpful in discussing medical school with us and our future plans. Doctor Gourley even gave Marcus a reference to a good friend of his who is in administration at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. It was sad leaving both appointments because the relationships and experiences with each of them can't be replaced, but I will always be happy thinking back on the care they've shown to us. They will always stand out in my mind as top notch examples of the type of person a doctor should be.
