Home Already!!!

A LOT of things have changed since my last post. Saturday was a wonderful day and everything made a huge turn for the better!

James' case was turned over to our pediatrician Dr. Bailey (the BEST pediatrician in the world, I swear) Saturday morning and after evaluating the situation he felt very strongly that James was tough enough to be eased out of the newborn ICU and be moved down with us that afternoon. This came as an enormous but fantastic surprise for me. James still had an IV in his head and hand but was otherwise unhooked from everything. I was feeling absolutely great and Marcus and I enjoyed the day at the hospital just loving up our little babe and spending time with one another. There was no better feeling in the world than being in that hospital room all afternoon and evening just holding and feeding James with Marcus. I could have stayed in that moment much longer than it lasted.

This morning started off quite a bit more rough but was still good. My nurse did not come in at all throughout the night and I woke up this morning in awful pain. I was way overdue for my medication. The extreme pain made me nauseous for a while but eventually I was given something to take care of that as well. Dr. Gourley stopped by to check on us and when we told him how well yesterday went he asked if we were interested in going home. We were shocked but completely excited. We took him up on the offer and headed home later in the afternoon.

My mother, sister Amelia, brother Mathew, and Connor came to the hospital to help us get everything together and leave. They joined us at home all afternoon as well as my other brother Ben, sister-in-law Anice, and nephew Cole. We've had a nice afternoon just relaxing and enjoying our time together.

James is doing absolutely fantastic and is just as cuddly as can be. Connor LOVES his "baby James" and has been the proudest big brother on earth. Things are going so well it almost seems unreal. I am so happy and thankful for this time of my life. I am so satisfied in this moment that I feel like I could just stay in this stage forever.

Oh, Anna, he's adorable!!! Newborns are so great when they're cuddly and just wanna sleep all the time.

I'm glad that Connor loves sweet baby james, and that you're home and doing well.

Anna,

He is a doll, and I am so glad you got to come home with him! I hope you are feeling better and healing quickly!

Did that nurse just forget about you? How rude!

Praying for you all!

he is gorgeous and believe me I don't say that often about newborns. He really is super cute. Congratulations again. When are you moving? I am flying into Utah on the 15th and would love to see your baby in person if you are still there. If not, I guess pictures will do. Keep posting them.

I bet being home is so nice! He is absolutely adorable! I am sure at 7 lbs 7 oz.. (I think) he will grow out of that car seat in no time and be able to sit forward in the car a lot earlier than Connor. :) I want to come visit you some time next week to see James AND Connor since it's been so long. Again Congrats!

Your newborn is bigger than my almost 1 month old! He's definitely a cutie and just think - our boys will be in the same grade. Maybe they'll be friends (if we live in the same state). Congrats!
