I Have Changed My Mind

I have changed my mind. July 25th sounds like an excellent day to have a baby. I officially no longer want to go into labor before then (although I will still accept my water randomly breaking).

Yesterday afternoon Marcus, Connor, and I went to the mall with Jessica and Abigail. We walked around for a while and did some fun shopping. Every time I walk I get contractions, usually they become uncomfortable but no big deal. They are just braxton hicks contractions so they usually stop when I finally sit down.

Well, yesterday as we were walking I starting getting HUGELY painful contractions. You mothers out there know what I'm talking about, the nauseating ones that you feel in your hips, tush, thighs, back, and abdomen of course. I was in so much pain by the time we decided to leave the mall that I swore off walking the rest of this pregnancy (although I now realize how ridiculous that is). It took me well into the night time hours to finally relax and have the contractions stop.

Anyway, the bottom line is this: If I actually had to go through labor to have this baby I would continue in my efforts. However, I am having a c-section and the only purpose labor would serve would be to get me in the hospital doors earlier. Once there they would just stop my labor anyway and then do my c-section. And I would much rather just show up feeling well before the surgery then showing up feeling like I want to die.

The showing up lovely is one of the perks of having a pre-planned C-section. You know beforehand so you can get your nails, hair and makeup all done before going in. It's quite a treat, so why would anyone really want to have contractions and go into labor - such a waste to time and effort. Keep up the good work and thoughts, Anna.

I agree with you I would rather know and be able to plan than have a surprise. Plus why feel icky when you are gettting a c-section anyway. I hope you feel good till you deliver!
