For the last three weeks Connor has been dying to go to the zoo. I'm not exactly sure where he got the idea to go from, but he did, and he has been begging ever since. We finally made a plan to go and my mother came up to share in the animal fun.
Sunday was hilarious. When we put Connor down for bed we told him that when he woke up we would go to the zoo. Well, he laid in bed for 5-10 minutes and then called us in to tell us he was awake and it was time to go. Of course we called him out on his attempt at being tricky and told him he had to really go to sleep first.
We made our way to the Hogle Zoo bright and early and got there just after the gates opened. We practically had the zoo to ourselves that early in the morning. Connor loved seeing all the animals, but that's about all he wanted to do...see them and then move on. He would look and say, "Hi elephant...bye!" and then want to go to the next display. It was so funny. Although he went to zoo last summer this was really the first time he remembers seeing the animals and I think they were a little intimidating for him. He LOVED it though, and already wants to go back.
The highlight of the trip for him was definitely riding on the zoo train. He also enjoyed going on the conservation carousal twice and spending his money all by himself in the gift shop.
My mom took a bunch of pictures but, of course, I don't have any of them yet. Sorry for the lack of zoo fun photos.

Oh how fun! I can't wait to take the kids back to the zoo. Glad Conner had so much fun.
next time you go you should let me know and I could meet you there! Also, Kaysi (Booth) Webster lives just down the street from the zoo and has season passes. It would be fun for us to all get together.
i love the zoo! but mostly i love the st. louis zoo because it is FREE and very fun!
